About Geoff and Kathy

Our life’s journey has led us on quite a path.  Being married right out of college (I graduated with a degree in chemistry from Gettysburg College and Geoff was doing continuing classes at Southern Connecticut State University), we had no idea where life would lead us.  Shortly after our marriage in 1982, I started an almost 32 year career at the Yale School of Medicine in proteomics (the study of proteins) and later, mass spectrometry as it applies to proteins.  Geoff though, ended up with leukemia (AML or acute myelogenous leukemia) a year after our marriage.  Needless to say, this was a major challenge/scary time in our lives and it was only by God’s grace and mercy that Geoff was healed.  From here, (and after a time of healing) Geoff was able to pursue a career first in home renovation, and then high quality custom cabinetry.  As for me, my work was quite demanding and in an effort to find balance in my life, I started taking pottery classes at the Guilford Art Center in Guilford CT under the tutelage of internationally renown potter Robert Parrott.  Bob (and his wife Anita Griffith, also a potter) gave me great encouragement and I found such peace in pottery that this is now my new endeavor.  Our choice to move our workshops to Vermont fulfills a lifelong dream of ours to live here.  Yellow labs (and dogs in general) have always been a huge part of our life which you will see reflected in our sculpture creations (see Geoff and I  with our dogs Bailey and Chester in the photos).  So please stop by our studio (but call ahead!) to see our works and our current yellow lab Murphy!
